Best Man
So, your dear friend or family member has given you the honor of being their Best Man. Your friend obviously wants you to be part of one of the most memorable days of his life. Being best man is an honor but, there are some responsibilities that come with the title.
On the wedding day your key responsibility is to be there for your friend. Most grooms will need a strong shoulder to lean on that morning, I know I did. You may be called upon to help with those unpredictable odds and ends that inevitably pop up on that special day. Keep my phone number handy, I'm there to help you too.
Bachelor Party
The number one Best Man's responsibility is, as we all know, the Bachelor Party!
My number one piece of advice when it comes to bachelor parties, do not do it the night before the wedding. A hung over groom will not make for a happy bride. Trust me on this one.
I could list a number of cool little clubs and sports bars here on Maui that would be ideal for a guy's night out, but I'll be honest with you first. When men hear, "Bachelor Party", they think, "Strip Club"! Unfortunately, that is the one thing that Oahu has to offer that Maui does not. "Maui no ka oi" (Maui is the best), but no strip clubs.
If a lot of your friends are coming from different locations and the bachelor party will take place in Maui, no worries. I can make it rock! Call or E-mail me for suggestions and options. There are options.
Groom's Man's Toast
For most of us this is the hard part. Here are some things to think about.
1. Your toast should be funny, but keep your audience in mind.
2. You want to embarrass your friend with out going too far.
3. You want your toast to be touching and reflect the value of your friendship.
4. Less is more. Keep it short and sweet.
5. STAY SOBER until after your toast.
